David Harrington

Dave started his career working in the jail. After two years, one month and 13 days, he transferred to patrol. He worked patrol for six years, primarily in north Orange County, before promoting to Investigator. In the six years as an Investigator, Dave worked Economic Crimes, Fugitive/Warrants, Sex Crimes and General Investigations before promoting to Sergeant. After a short 1.5-year stint in the jail as a supervisor, he transferred back to patrol. Toward the end of 2003, Dave found his way to south Orange County as a patrol supervisor landing in the City of Aliso Viejo and eventually moved there.  

Dave met Michele Williams, a Business owner and Marine Corp Veteran,  fell in love and married her creating a blended family of his, hers and theirs. Dave has an adult son who after serving in the United States Army (with one tour of duty in Afghanistan) joined the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Dept, and an adult daughter who works in real estate and aspires to be a make-up artist. Michele has a son named Tyson. Together, they adopted Tamu and Negasse from Ethiopia several years ago. 

Dave is currently the Mayor of Aliso Viejo and represents the City  on the LOCC-Orange County Division Selection Committee; Orange County Fire Authority Board; Aliso Creek Watershed; and South Orange County Watershed Management Area.
